The Benefits of a Vegan Lifestyle

In recent years, veganism has been popularized around the world and has become a movement for those trying to positively impact the environment as well as their personal health. This blog is going to go through the benefits that veganism holds, as well as my personal experience with becoming vegan.

  • Improved Health: While there are still ways to eat junk food while being vegan, such as Oreos or french fries, when done correctly, a vegan diet is rich in vitamins and nutrients that are very good for the body and improve one's health. Plant-based foods such as fruit, vegetables, nuts, and grains will help lead someone to start feeling much better about their health. After about four weeks of being vegan, I began to feel a lot healthier and had more energy than when compared to my diet before.
  • Environmental Impact: If everyone adopted a vegan diet, the planet would be a lot more sustainable, and greenhouse gas emissions would not be as much of a problem. Eating plant-based foods is one of the best ways to positively impact the environment and reduce your carbon footprint.
  • Weight Management: Many people struggle with finding a diet that works for them. I strongly recommend trying a plant-based diet as it is easy to find foods that are low in caloric content and fat, which can help with weight loss. Another problem I have seen people have with their diet is that they are always hungry and tempted to eat more snacks in between meals. The good news is that snacking is not as big of a problem with a plant-based diet since a lot of it is low in calories. One can snack on veggies and hummus or fruits all day without running into a problem with weight gain.
Overall, becoming vegan is a great start to a healthier life for yourself and the planet. It may be difficult at first, but the challenge is worth it in the long term for your health and the environment.
